Re: [DIY] Re: Leaking Wall Mount Toilet

Wall mount stools are usually found in commercial buildings and seldom in normal dwellings.  I imagine you have had no replies because very few DIYers have any experience with them.

I posted this a week ago but received no replies. If anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it.

The building's walls are metal studs with metal mesh and concrete(?) between. The wall behind the toilet is hollow (for pipes). The next door neighbor's bathroom is a mirror image of mine, and there are other condos upstairs and downstairs from me. I moved in in 1999 and had no problems with the original toilet, which was probably as old as the building (1970).

Their "official" plumbing company offered a better price than I could find elsewhere, so I had them do it ($500+). In early 2011, when the toilet was less than 2 years old, it started leaking into the wall. There was water on the floor and the wall was deteriorating. I called the same plumbing company, who replaced a gasket, they said ($200+).
