I think there's even some buzz that the tollway is actually now suppose to be free since it's been paid in full. Don't forget the metro rail. Downtown and expanding.
Mild winters. Air conditioner friendly at times too.
One block over. Sure a slight exaggeration but really not too far of a stretch. Montrose anyone.

Houston is a bit different because it spreads over a lot of land and there's room to expand. Some areas have been dramatically improved, such as interstate 10, which runs east-west all the way through Houston. It is now 12 lanes wide in many places. Also, only in Texas would you build a tollway and then install 3 lane feeder lanes on either side of it. A lot of people drove on the feeders when the tollway first opened because it was free. But we are trying to get more multiuse friendly with some developement for walking and cycling. Like Dale said, it is hot and humid -- but that is for 4-5 mo of the year. Other places have 4-5 mo of snow and cold. Our winters are gorgeous with mild temperatures and many stunning clear days.Nah, it will never do for people who love small populations and solitude and I understand that.BobFrom: DoIt_Yourself@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DoIt_Yourself@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of aki
