Re: [DIY] Crack in acrylic tub

I guess the question this begs is, does the crack go all the way through, and does it leak?  I doubt resurfacing will make a lasting repair to a crack.

Our "marble" tub, which I assume is some type of acrylic, has developed a hairline crack on the far side near the bottom.  I've been looking on-line at the repair kits but they don't sound like a DIY project, at least if you don't want the repair to show.   There is no opening to the tub surround, you have to pull the entire tub or go in underneath the house.  I'm thinking it might be better, and cheaper, to get it re-surfaced.  Anyone have any idea what this costs?   It's a large corner tub and if it has to be replaced I assume the jets and motor will also….sounds like mucho bucks.
