FYI< They do make a special countersink for brads, spring loaded piston inside. I suspect if glued/ braded/ countersunk with water-proof glue/ putty/ caulk, and not in direct weather/ rain, rust not much of an issue;
MAYBE different story if exposed to rain, in treated lumber; I have seen even galvanized screws half-eaten away
