Good midsize+ unit in Mitsubishi is definitely going to run more. Just checking one site it would be $3-$4000 for just the unit, so probably $5K isn't too far off the mark for heating/cooling/upstairs and down. OK, I tried to figure this out but got lost, # sq', — converted to tons to BTU etc. Anyone with a calculator that does this? In the downstairs room there is 550 sq', butthe ceiling is 10' for half the room - about 15' at highest point on the other half. Upstairs, we have 1000 sq ft with arched ceilings, about 10' at wall level, 13' at the top.
