Replace the whole dang thing is my advice. Start new again ...why? The
whole unit is cheaper than messing with it in the long run. The cost is
about $16 to $18 for all new guts for your toilet....if you try to just
replace one thing or another (like the flapper or the float or whatever) it
will cost you more in the long run. Once one thing goes bad it just tells me
it's best to replace the whole works...as next thing you know you are
spending more money on other parts and pieces that need replaceing also.
Why fight it? Besides that the newer guts for the toilet tanks today are
much more efficient than before.
