I would also check on what type of tv antenna amplifier you need...
radio shack people may know but be careful...a lot of the kids
there really do not know electronics...check this out:

And because of the conversion to digital, if you're in a marginal area for
analog signals, you may not be able to get digital signals at all. I have a
friend in a situation like that. Even with analog, he was only able to
receive one or two stations; digital he'd not be able to receive at all.
He's checked into satellite, but the dish would need to be place out in the
middle of a neighbor's field, and up high on a pole, because of the trees
(not his) blocking the satellite path/signal. He's having to consider
cable, which is the only option left for both TV and internet (he's on
dialup now), but as a senior on a fixed income....
