Re: [DIY] CAULKING Hint < Window glazing---Hint.

And, Dale, similar to your methodology...

The 1/2" may change, but the same trick for caulking will
yield an end result that is as good or better than most you
will see. Remover tape AFTER running your finger along it
to remove excess. If you are now a pro, spit on a finger
afterwards yields the final smoothness. Have paper towels
handy, pre-torn off the roll.

Caulk skims-over in as little as 5-15 minutes, which can
affect that final-touch. This means 2.5+5+2.5 ft = 10 ft, for a
regular tub and move semi-fast, is all the time you may have.

You can do the rest in a 2nd run. It's YOUR house! Er, HOME!
Use "Bathroom & Kitchen caulk," for same.

Biggest mistake w/caulk is that it comes paintable & non-paintable.

Acetone cleans silicon types, if it's not dry...!
Evaporates quickly. Do NOT breath much acetone...
V similar to glue-sniffing. Ventilate the room.

>I know it is a little late in your case, but in the
future and for those others who might not be profession
glazers, if you will run a strip of wide masking tape
around the window about 1/2 inch from the edge of the
glass and then glaze to the edge of the tape you will get
a nice straight edge and avoid much of the mess. Wait a day
or so before removing the tape and when it is removed pull
away from the fresh putty. Use the blue masking tape for easy
removal.
