Basically the big room upstairs is going to be wide open. I had the thoughts what you are saying, don't bury it. Here's an idea......the perimeter of the room is 4' tall and that's where the ceiling joists tie in. Since it's around a 30x38 room the ceiling rises rather rapidly to almost a 20' peak so there won't be too much wasted room due to height issues. At any rate.......If I were to have a kick out around this that had panels that could flip open or such what about that?
