Something else that might be effective for dissolving bird droppings is Lime Away or any similar product. It ought to soften it up so a hose can rinse it off. Just let it work for awhile before you try to rinse it away. Do it when its cool and the sun isn't beating down.

I have been thinking about using a wire brush to
remove the pidgeon crap that is all over the
shingles on some sections of our house.
It is mostly on top of our front porch.
There is also a lot of green moss & dirt betweeen the
shingles and I wonder if removing all this will cause
more problems than it solves ?
In other words ....
Does pidgeon crap and moss deteriorate asbestos
shingles if it is left on them indefinitely ?
