Re: [DIY] Re: Garage

The next step should be to provide some sort of barrier to prevent hitting
the wall again.
On a low tech approach to this is the old tennis ball trick of hanging one
on a string so it touches your windshield just when you pull into the
correct position.
----------------------------

Can't help with the garage "reconstruction" because I've not hit mine like
that. But I *do* have a small garage and a good sized truck. I thought
about the tennis ball thing, but then realized that the radio antennae on
the truck hits an overhead joist at just the right place to stop. I can
pull in far enough to ease it just past that joist, and then stop. Also,
because my garage is cement block construction, and the truck is fairly new
(purchased 2009), and I do NOT want to ding up the front end or hit the
front wall, I hung two old car tires on the wall to act as 'bumpers.' So
far I've not hit them, but then I shouldn't be pulling into the garage so
fast that I would anyway.

I will admit to having hit the side of the doorway with the mirror. No
damage to either but it was an excellent reminder to *slow down* and
remember that it's a tight fit.

Hope this helps.
