Return the fencing tio Home Depot, and tell the why, AND also
(double conjunctive, for effect,) write the same to all main
corporate offices.
The new dude at the helm (heck, write him too,) is an ex-US
Defense Advisor to the Pres, like McNamara, who later ran, uh,
one of the big 3 auto companies. He is cutting and selling and
may roll or at least batter a head or two.
Bill C us right. For a fence, until it's done, you pay ONLY for
Bill-Of-Materials when materials 1st hit the ground (or mebe
8 hours,)and have been inspected to be correct. In this case,
materials were pre-paid.
THIS can be smart. BUT a contractor who buys them FOR you
and charges you regular price and delivers at his cost, gets the
profit. It ain't gobs, but with the labor, it makes the pot sweeter,
IF he has time and desires to.
It ALL makes sense, once you understand it. SOME towns
have a primer on how to pick one, and the general rules-of-thumb.
I've done this sort of work and am not fond of most "Home D - type"
contractors. I bet a few are great. Also look in your local church-bulletin.
Not a member? Walk in and look for a bulletin and take one home.
Look on the back. Next time, if you like the contractor, stay a while...
