Re: [DIY] Saw?

I when possible, saw finished products so that the saw blade pulls through the finished side this will be determined by the saw you use .Some times this is not an option such as use of a chopsaw in this case I use painters tape over the area to cut then draw the cut line then score the line with my utility knife several times then cut making sure the blade does not cross the score mark this works for cutting flooring cutting the bottom of doors and on finished ply stock that you have to cut with a circular saw and  if I most use the scrap plystock after I tape it to over to width of the saws bottom plate as to not leave drag marks, clamped straight edge, score the cut line for both sides of the saw blade width . Counter tops and plastic laminate cut outs I tape, score and use a jig saw useing a blade made for laminates as the teeth have a fine width and face downwards preventing chipouts. As mentioned prior, Practice first on scrap, make templates if need be,measure twice and cut once, take your time it will save you money in the long run. hope any of this helps jeff
